Cascades developer promises signature project

Shawn McIntyre has a digital countdown on his iPhone of the Cascades Project. Three years, two months, five days, seven hours, 56 minutes and 18 seconds.
At his Madison Street office, facing McIntyre’s Lumberyard student housing project, the developer taps his clock apps, pulls up the countdown and positions the screen for all to see. It’s a reminder of what’s at stake.
His mantra: Time kills all deals.
The Florida managing partner of North American Properties got a wide-eyed reaction last week when he unveiled his radical concept. It’s adjacent to the city’s largest storm-water facility disguised as a lush, green park.
