North American Properties takes ownership of downtown blocks for Cascades Project

The Community Redevelopment Agency sold its two downtown city blocks under redevelopment as the Cascades Project to North American Properties for $4.28 million.
The deal was done Tuesday, making it the last milestone transaction for NAP’s plans to create a $150-million, mixed-use development on the hem of Cascades Park.
“We’re going to build two city blocks of five different uses to open at one time, and that’s how you establish an 18-hour downtown,” said Shawn McIntrye, NAP’s managing partner for Florida.
