Refurbishment of former County Health Unit underway

from Project Update

In keeping with our plans to preserve and honor the rich history of Cascades, we’ve already made significant strides in refurbishing the former Leon County Health Unit building, which has sat vacant on the site for many years.

We recently finished replacing the roof and began repairing interior areas that had been left to deteriorate over time. We also removed old flooring panels to discover beautiful wood floors extending throughout the main areas, as well as unique octagonal tiling in the bathrooms. In the coming weeks, we we will replace the windows to closely mirror the original style and continue making other cosmetic updates to prepare the building for future use as an office space.
