Cascades construction set to begin
from Project Update
Construction of the two-block parcel bordering Cascades Park will begin next week as we continue working to fulfill the community’s long-time desire for a vibrant live-work-play experience in the heart of downtown.
As part of our ongoing commitment to keep the community informed, please note that the following streets will be closed beginning Tuesday, January 22:
- Bloxham Street, between S. Calhoun and Gadsden Streets (limited access provided for ticketed events held at Cascades Park)
- Gadsden Street, between Bloxham and Gaines Streets
Sidewalks around the construction site will remain open to ensure continued pedestrian access to the park.
Additionally, the small parking lot at the corner of Gadsden and Bloxham across from the splash pad will be inaccessible as of January 22. You can refer to this illustration to find nearby public parking options while we work to build additional parking capacity within the new development.
