A steady march of construction activity will continue this year despite the pandemic’s ubiquitous impact on the industry.
Roughly 40 projects are listed as under construction, permit materials show. Some are stalled or have become a commercial real estate mystery, including the troubled Washington Square that failed to deliver Loews Hotel downtown and the Market Square redevelopment, encased in fences, slow progress and unanswered questions. Across the board, the pandemic derailed progress as supply and workforce woes added months, or longer, to projected timelines. But, there’s still much to watch.
By April 1, the AC by Marriott Hotel plans to welcome guests and the first trickle of new renters will be living in posh apartments overlooking Cascades Park, the catalyst for the redevelopment project.Read the full story at http://tallahassee.com
