HCA Healthcare North Florida Division will be the latest tenant to move to Cascades — making it the second major company to occupy office space within the $158-million downtown redevelopment.
Its headquarters on North Monroe Street will relocate to two and a half floors in the Merestone building bordering Cascades Park, according to the 15-year lease. North American Properties, the developer behind Cascades, plans to complete HCA’s build out by September 2022.
The HCA Healthcare affiliate oversees Capital Regional Medical Center, 15 hospitals, 20 freestanding emergency departments, several physician practices, out-patient surgery centers and other facilities in North and Central Florida.
The company’s move follows the relocation this year of Tallahassee-based pharmaceutical consulting firm, Artia Solutions, to the fifth floor of the Merestone building.
Phase I of Cascades — a $158-million redevelopment, the largest in downtown Tallahassee’s history — also had two major debuts this year.
AC Hotel Tallahassee Universities at the Capitol and Charlie Park, its rooftop bar, debuted this summer. On the residential side of the redevelopment, Millstream at Cascades also welcomed a stream of new residents in its upscale apartments.
