All-female craft beer company buys old Waterworks site near Cascades Park

Ownership of the city’s former Waterworks building is now officially in the hands of four families who want to turn the historic site into a neighborhood craft brewery.  

Last week, site owner and developer North American Properties sold the L-shaped, 1-acre patch of land at Gaines and Gadsden streets to Amicus Brewing Ventures — an all female-owned brewing company. 

Parts of the building will be refreshed with renovation while other features, including much of the inside and the exterior, will remain untouched.

Renovation designs and permit approvals have not yet been finalized. Once complete, the brewery is slated to open in early 2023, said Alison Denny, one of the owners.
